Store was originally affiliated with Norfolk Coal & Coke Company and was known as the C. V. Ferguson Store. Was purchased by Pocahontas Fuel Co., Inc. and became known as the Norfolk Store. Was again sold and became Henderson Market. Before being recently demolished building served as a multiple domestic dwelling.

Shirley White, daughter of Charles "TED" White, worked this store 1942 through 1946. Shirley married and became Shirley Georgeff. She left Maybeury in 1955 and treasures the wonderful memories

AN E-MAIL FROM SHIRLEY'S SON

Hi, just wanted you to know that Mom, Shirley Mason White Georgeff, passed away July 10, 2007 of unexpected cancer. It took her life within six weeks of finding out that she had it. She told me that she had a wonderful conversation with you awhile back. She passed away in Greenville S.C. and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluefield, W.Va. She will be so missed.

Thanks
Barry Georgeff

I'LL SEE YOU IN HEAVEN, SHIRLEY. WE'LL TALK ABOUT MAYBEURY AGAIN
